Actually I remember a friend recently saying on facebook that they were thinking of becoming a political lesbian and someone (who should actually know better…) just said ‘is that the kind where you don’t have sex?’ - because yeah, sex should be our main motivator and the most important thing that defines us all the time ever, right? Farkin hell. I have all of the hates for actual slut shaming but I’m also just fucking exhausted at the vast amount of pressure to be sexual and sexually available and sexually motivated all the ever-loving fucking time and my desire to not always be talking/thinking/doing sex and to not always have it thrust in my face and permeating my social circles to the point it actually just feels toxic because your social currency depends on who you’re fucking and how much sex you’re having and how sexually available you are and people’s actual interest in you as a human being will decrease if you’re not hyper sexual all the time does not mean I am sexphobic or a slut shamer or against fostering positive environments where liberated sexuality (or liberated ASEXUALITY) can be nurtured and supported.
